UK Vehicle Sales - Brand / 2016

UK car sales are nearly 2.7 million units and by adding commercial vehicle (CVs) registrations of just over 437,000 one comes to a grand total in excess of  3.1 million. Cars sales were up 2.3% and CVs 1.3%. In 2015, CVs grew much faster.

Obviously adding CV sales benefits some brands and not others. Ford goes from 11.8% to 16.3%, GM Vauxhall from 9.3% to 10.7%, VW 7.7% /  9.4%, Mercedes 6.3%

BMW sales were up 5.2% in 2016, slightly down on global premium sales growth. Arch rival Mercedes Benz is on the offensive as are other competitors such as Jaguar / Land Rover.
