MINI Brand Global Model Sales : 2017-18
The MINI range has been trimmed back to four variants after some more recently introduced models had proved less than successful. The ones here now all work well which proves there is a limit to viable niches. Anyway, global sales are now consistently over the 350,000 mark with two plants at present. The UK and the Netherlands are where the factories are, unusual due to their close proximity.

MINI Global Sales By Model : 2016
BMW managed a respectable 6% increase in sales in 2016, on the back of the new Clubman and Convertible models. The Paceman, Roadster and Coupé were phased out as they proved unsuccessful. BMW's quest for niches hit a snag. The last of their production was incorporated into other models.
MINI was a smash hit when it came out and it soon became a range of models. Others variants joined and with

UK Car Industry: BMW MINI #3
Mini was an iconic model that survived for over twenty years and ended in the year 2000. How do you follow that. Like Land Rover trying to reinvent the Defender, it was no easy task. In 1998, BMW started on a replacement and rather than try keep it mainstream, they took it into the premium sector. The car above was the result.
As for 2014, squeezing in at number three in UK production numbers

5-Door MINI Starts Production
Cowley, UK production is underway
The 5-Door mini doesn't go on sale until October 2014, but it is starting to roll down the Cowley production line. It is seen as becoming a bigger seller than the 3-door hatch model. I have always liked the MINI but the lack of rear portals was a put off. Now it has them it is the sort of car that would appeal. The Clubman was stylish but not well packaged

MINI Brand Worldwide Sales By Model: 2013
MINI owners do love their cars..apparently
BMW's MINI brand had a year that little actually happened. True, the Paceman arrived, but didn't cause too much of a splash. However, the new MINI is arriving in dealers and that will buoy things along for 2014. It could be said that MINI held up well with reduced deliveries late in 2013 as the new model was prepared for.

BMW's MINI Lunacy To Be Checked
The MINI Coupe. Interesting but too extreme to be a large seller
BMW chases niches in the car market like greyhounds pursue rabbits. Like that speedy canine, it just cannot help itself. Well, sanity prevails with regard to future MINI models. Perhaps it was a case of the accountants finally getting their way.
To understand the issue, notice the sales chart below (2013 figures not released

Are You Confused By All The MINI Variants?
I have to say that German car makers know a thing or two about niche segments. They get models into every cranny they can find, then invent new ones to cram new variants into. It can get confusing. The original Mini had different models but the BMW MINI of the 21st century is getting so many different variations, perhaps a clarification is in order:
In 2001, the basic hatch model arrived, in One

BMW MINI Engine Milestone: 2012
The three-millionth engine has been produced at BMW Group's UK engine plant circa Birmingham. Four-cylinder petrol engines have been built at Plant Hams Hall for over a decade. The engines go to plants in Germany, Austria and Oxford, UK, currently powering the BMW X1, 1 Series and new BMW 3 Series, as well as all MINI petrol models. Facilities are to be upgraded at the Hams Hall plant to enable

BMW MINI Sales By Country: 2011
I'm not keen on BMW cars, nor do I understand their seeming obsession with being the largest selling premium brand. However, they have been very good at handling the MINI marque. In 2011 196,000 (69%) of MINI sales were of UK sourced models, and 89,000 (31%) came from Austria. Where did they sell? I have a fairly comprehensive list: 1 USA 57,511 +26%2 UK 50,138 +14%3 Germany 40,345 +28%4 France

MINI: Sales 2008
MINI managed a 9,500 growth in 2008 or a 4.3% increase. With a new cross mini coming in 2009, it should manage 2008’s sales total. The USA really took to the MINI in 2008 while the British didn’t as much. Maybe the suicide door on the right side of the Clubman didn’t help. Whatever the reason, the US went from less than 19% of all MINI sales to over 23%, while the UK went from 21.5% to 17.5%.

Nothing Mini About MINI Sales In 2007
MINI sold nearly 223,000 vehicles s year. From 2001, when it was introduced, sales grew strongly to 2005, when the 200,000 barrier was breached. 2006 saw a slight decline as work was done to allow for more production. Then 2008 will see the Clubman adding to sales. 260,000 could be reached this year. Top 10 markets for 2007: 1) The UK has been always been # 1 apart from 2006, when the USA took
